I have ordered from Wizard three or four times. I had a problem with my last order- the Dansco Jefferson nickel album I ordered had an extra Page 3 instead of Page 5. Wizard handled the situation very well. Page 5 is the update page for that album so they just sent me that single page instead of having to send the whole album back and then shipping me a new one. They fixed the problem to my satisfaction even though it was technically Dansco's fault the pages were duplicated.

So we have about equal, bad and good. I personally will let my problems with them pass on but I will look twice at other vendors before ordering from them. A quote from above. "there's only two of us here, sometimes orders get messed up...". This shows a bad lack of customer training which I think is the problem with Wizard right now. Never tell your customer that you are understaffed or are having interior problems. Well, anyway you guys have been a big help with your different insights into this post.

Edgeman, They could be right .. could have just been bad luck, for a couple of us. But I do know, because they told me, that they had went to a coin show in Florida, and their office pretty much stopped working. As for the coin cases. I think if you know just what you want, and what will work. Then you might be ok. I now have two Lighthouse coin cases. I ordered the second one, to fit the wrong trays I first received from Wizard. I found that case on E bay, from Vernon coins, It was a very good price and free shipping. For the cases, I guess trying to mix the trays can be a problem. Some of the trays are different heights. For example: you can put six 2X2 trays into a case or four that hold slabs. The second case I got I did put one tray for slabs and the others 2X2's it seems to work. Oh.. and the lighthouse 2x2 coin holders seem to work best. I started out using Intercept shield holders, they fit to tight.

I'm not saying they're a bad company. What I'm saying is my experiences with them have been poor in 100% of my dealings with them.
edgman- I was kinda taken aback when she made that statement. I assumed they were a large outfit, nice web site and ads in print, but she made it sound like a basement shop. She spent the first part of the conversation making excuses, and actually seemed a little annoyed that I wasn't buying into her argument.
Halfwitty- Personally, I have never had the need to pay the extra charges to have coin supplies shipped to me overnight. I'm just a casual collector, not a dealer. I can wait.

Great info on the cases but seemingly bad for me because I will be using intercept shield 2x2's only. How tight do they fit? I was going to order the aluminum case that takes six trays for 2x2's. Wanted to add 2 certified trays also.

Among my many varied careers I used to teach customer service to firms who had problems with theirs. What the woman from Wizard told you just violated two of the cardinal sins of customer service. I also used Vernon Coin before and was pleased with them.

The intercept shield 2X2's are pretty tight. I have I think 9 of them, dollar size, that I put some of my commemorative dollars in. They will go into the space/slot, but if you are not careful they will come apart when you try to take them back out. (I hope that makes since) Much harder taking them out, then putting them in the space/slot.
The lighthouse 2X2's are very similar and much cheaper. They seem, to me, to be of the same design as the Intercept Shield, just a little smaller. All the 2X2's in the case with the blue trays are Lighthouse 2X2's. (case with the half dollars)
The blue trays, are for the briefcase style cases. The red trays, for the box type case.
I am not a dealer. I have no connection with Wizard coin, Vernon Coin, Intercept Shield or Lighthouse. I just try to find what works for me and pass on my experiences.

I would like to say. The last three orders I made, were with Jake's. Very good service. Shipping was fast, once the order was process. Good E mail response. On the first order I made with them I was not sure how to select the different type of shipping. I called and they were very helpful, took the time to answer all my questions.
On the last order, I guess the shipping was less then they charged. I got a e mail that they refunded me the dollar difference, which showed up in my paypal account.

Here it is. I don't think they have coin cases. I look at them for Dansco's and coin supplies. http://www.jakesmp.net/

I've ordered a couple of times from wizard.......never had a problem, my last order was three 2011 red books which shipped for $5 and got here from my shipping confirmation email in three, count 'em three days. For media mail, that's flat awesome. I couldn't beat three copies for 1/2 cover price and $5 shipping, seriously.

SPQR "Senatus Populusque Romanus"
If you read all the threads you would see that Wizards prices are probably better than elsewhere but the problems I and other members had was with their shipping, customer service and lack of mail tracking. I just re-ordered more intercept shield 2x2's from them so I am still a customer of theirs even though I had 2 bad shipping transactions with them. Waiting to see how fast this package comes. Others shipping who use a flat shipping rate is probably cheaper for larger, heavier items.

I've ordered from Wizard one(1) time. After 10 days of waiting I decided to contact them. I was told that I should of received my order by now. They told me that they would send out a second order, so I thanked them and let them know if my order did come doubled I would return the second shipment. I waited a week and contacted them again. This time I was told that they had been out of this item for quite awile and when their shipment of supplies come in they will send my order. I do believe I was lied too, but why? All in all it took 30 days for my order. I don't mind waiting, but don't BS me.

You had the same problem I did. Said the order was shipped then two weeks later said it was back ordered. I could live with the back order, it happens but they lied to me and said it was shipped. I have to go a half mile to the cluster mailbox and being slightly handicapped (hips replaced in January) I don't go everyday unless I am expecting an order. Caused me a lot of inconvenience.
