Well did not get either yet? I am a 100% PT/SC Disabled Decorated Vietnam Vet for years now. Guess I should get one and was a Boy Scout Master for Troop 301 for 12 years when my son was growing up.
I was a cub scout, boy Scout and Marine well still a Marine :) Once a Marine always a Marine
Anyway I did not get these yet the MINT is making a MINT off me for years now getting tired of payng them so much profit but guess if I want these better make the mind up soon.

Speaking about disabled people when you look at someone and they look fine believe me they may not be so do not be so quick to judge people that park in that disabled spot you never know what they have been through in this life.
One of the hardest things about being disabled is when people can't tell you are disabled will not go into what is wrong with me but I am very disabled and you would never know it by looking at me so just had to post this for disabled people do not judge anyone till you have walked in their boots for a year or two.

"Judge Not, Lest Ye Be Judged"
Thank you all for your military service to your country.....it's a priceless debt that can never be repaid.....especially for those who never came back.
As far as the difference between the two Commem's., I agree with Bio, rightly or wrongly, it (Boy Scout Commem.) will have the staying power for a long long time for those reasons.

I respectfully disagree, I believe there are many, many service men/women who have no clue that this Disabled Vets commemorative exists.
I also feel the BSC will do well, but the Disabled Vet Commemorative, IMO, will be received just as well as the BSC, if not more so, just my opinion......Mike

I ordered and received one of the Disabled Vet coins as soon as it was available. Didn't order on of the BSA coins and will regret it later. The US Mint has a lot of my spare cash also. LOL

I have informed allot of the disabled vet community through the disabled vets message bases when these 1st came out.
They are reminded of disabled vets each day, hour and second living with there service connected disabilities and always thinking of how many others are becoming disabled every second of every day.
The US Mint should give all the young men and women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan one for free but since that number has now grown to 80,000 Plus they could not afford it.

Brucec,
I am rated at 80% but have an appeal in for the last 4 years; I have the Disabled Veteran: US Armed Forces license plates that afford me parking in the reserved for disabled parking spaces; but don't always use it. On days that I do I look normal, and get lots of sideways glances from people, but each step I take is excruciatingly (sp?) painful. My feet have been destroyed by jungle rot and agent organge nerve damage; its like having open raw nerves from my ankels down (peripharil nueropathy) being able to save some steps is very nice; still I try to leave those spots open for those in worse shape than me; wheelchairs, etc. It gauls me to no end to see a perfectly able person pull into those spaces without the proper tags, hanger; even more when someone pulls into one, reaches under the seat and brings out a "handicapped" card to hang on the rear view mirror and then able scampers about gathering groceries, when the come out the card goes back under the seat! "

Has anyone been able to locate a verified mintage count of the BSA Commem? Mint states 300K total, but does not break-out the UC vs. the Proofs quantities.

I personally thing that the BSA coins will go up a lot, as was said. Many young kids do not know about it yet,and in the future they might want to get it.

basicbob- I am handicap, right piriformis removed, and subsequent surgical scarring on right sciatica. If you saw me (6' 200) you wouldn't know it, I look "perfectly able". I also walk normally. Problem is if I walk for more than 2 minutes, I need to go get PT and I have to ultrasound myself for 10 minutes, plus I have to put that smelly pain relieving rub on all night. Not all of us parking in handicap appear as if we need to, but we do.

I ended up two merit badges short of Eagle Scout....because I was too afraid to speak in public.
here's my gasping comment, which may make me seem two cards short of a full deck:
There's a female on the Boy Scouts of America Commemorative.
I dont agree with that....here I sit, confounded; my wife nearly an ultra-feminist, too.
(more)words fail me.

basicbob101, I try not to judge anyone in life because of what I have been through in life and go through every day who cares what they think.
Just saying we have no idea what people have been through in life they may look fine but have six months to live.
I try not to judge anyone never been in their boots.
