Given how many WAMs have been reported on this forum, I find those numbers hard to believe, Legend.

Legend, what is your thinking to arrive at those numbers? I have seen other folks estimates, most based on ebay auctions. Just curious how you arrived at your numbers.

3 in the last 2 days is awesome! I average finding one every 200 days! If legends figures are right, then you own almost 2.5% of all '98 WAM's by yourself! And if they are really driving you crazy, PM me and I will help you with your sanity a little. I don't recall hearing of any doubled die WAM's. I'd sure like to see one, though.

But i'd like to ask aprox. how many rolls do you search per week and are they mostly bank wrapped rolls or CWR? I average about the same as you Scooby Due and I searc aprox. 5 boxes per week.

I do about a box a week on average. Of these 3, 2 were from the same box and one from customer rolls. I would guess(since I didn't keep statistics) that they are about equal from boxes and cwr.

Daviscfad,,I know that BadThad is in southern Ohio and he has found way more 98's than 99 or 2000. I am in central Ohio and somebody else, don't remember who it was from New Jersey had similar results. It does appear to be geographic. Maybe we need to start a thread for everyone to submit their WAM stats to see if we can see a distinct trend and maybe be able to rationally estimate populations of each variety. I have no doubt that 99's are rare but I am not convinced 2000's are rarer(or at least MUCH rarer) than 98's.

A thread on this would be a great idea. I'm in Central Oklahoma and lately the pickin's have been slim, not even much copper lately.

I've found quite a few 98 WAM's (like 10), two 99's and like two or three 2000's. For me the 2000's are as elusive as the 99's!

I've also found many more 98s than 2000 WAMs. The relative scarcity of these two dates has been discussed before. I think they should be priced the same.

It would seem that the Southern Ohio area is a hot bed for the Wide AM's, based on what other members are reporting. I have come up with: 1998-23 1999-3 (all within a year) 2000-17 I have also found 4 of the 1995 DDO's within a few months of each other; 3 came from the same bank. I also go through 2 boxes of halves a week, with an occasional box of nickels.
