whenever I search, I always try to get boxes, I ask for $25 worth of pennies, sometimes they don't have boxes so I get 50 rolls in a bag.

i figured just do what I can when I can, idealy I like to do a box at a time, but sometimes it might not be possible so I figure a couple rolls here and there is better than nothing at all, after all you never know what is in the next roll

I've been starting with a box of cents and like 5 rolls on quarters. A box of quarters is more than I want put into my roll hunting at a time so I'll always be going for rolls on them. Nickle boxes might be my limit at 100$ for a box. Dime box is 250$ I believe so probably will do those in rolls instead of boxes too.

Though I'm still new so maybe I'll raise my limits at some point!

Many days I just get 10 rolls of cents and 10 rolls of nickels. If you do that 5 times a week you have gone through a box of each. I go to different banks different days and dump the excess from the day before. Usually I go to different branches of 2 banks I have accounts with and just trade what I have just searched for different rolls. I always mark my rolls so I don't get them back to search. After a while, the tellers know not to give me the marked rolls. It works out fine for me. I also get a good mix of customer wrapped rolls and Brinks rolls this way. As a side note,my best rolls have been customer wrapped rolls. Just yesterday I got a CWR with a War Nickel,a 1939 and a 1938.,all in one roll. I got a whole roll of steel pennies a couple of weeks ago, again,CWR.

roll hunting is addictive for sure. I should do it more but getting rid of the pennies is a problem for me. I have to have someone go to a credit union so I can dump them. Re rolling is just to much work.

Thats the way I like search. A handful of rolls whenever I go to the bank. Easy to go through and also to get rid of when your done. I do get the urge to order a box now and then, but end up not doing so. I guess I'm worried of getting burned out on the search, especially on one type coin.

But lots of people here do get boxes and they have gotten some pretty nice finds.

i agree it is very addicting, hopeing to hit the bank up this week for about 10 rolls nickles I think, and maybe a couple of dims, like someone just said, I really don't want to get burnt out on one coin, I figure I will get some of those whitman folders, and work on them and then if I see extra ones that are cool, i'll keep them other wise they go back to the back or on the ebay. being military dont' want to get to big of a collection just yet, cause if they send me overseas that might be a pain tryig to ship that much weight, once I retire though it is GAME ON

I have gotten just a few rolls before. Usually when I know I won't be getting to the rolls anytime soon, yet I still want to have some for that "just-in-case" free time. I don't roll search that often, but I had a box of cents that was sitting around for 3-4 weeks before I got to it (plus for whatever reason I am just not into searching cents lately). Whatever keeps it fun is the way to go.

Why yes I do. All the time. I will pluck the unopened rolls of change from my wife's register and bust them open to see what I might find. Usually a roll or two of 1,5,10,and 25 cents each. She hates it when I do that because she then has to count it everyday until they get down low in the cash draw slot. It is not so bad if they are customer rolls, I can re-roll them. Just last week I got a 1947 and a 1934 out of the same roll of nickels.

I only order boxes of halves. Since no banks ever have any on hand. I usually get 2 or 3 boxes per week which is $1000 - 1500.. A lot of weight to lug around!

anyway, I rummiged through for a bit and found 2 silver rossies! 61, 56-d!, a 2009 sacagawea I didnt have yet, and a bunch of cool foreign change! nothing much but still fun
