WOW. In 10th grade I think I was just learning how to spell 10th grade. Does he collect coins? Great kid for that age.

Quote: wow Brian1315 you bouth the 2011 3ds max? Thats a really expensive program to buy unless you actually like need it for a job. The only way I have it is because by freinds dad works with software and can get programs really really cheap The firm I used to work with is owned by a family member and I just called him and he brought it to me, he didn't pay anywhere near the 3500 either. I have never really messed with animation very much so wanted to try that part of it out. I made a exploding earth last night...lol nothing to really brag about but hey my 10 year old daughter liked it. I also have the dreamscape plugins and quite a few others as well for it

and to Mr. Wheezy. Ni-i-i-i-ice images, guys. 10th grade? Most of my 10th graders couldn't spell "sophomore" correctly, much less do anything artistic other than carve their initials on the desk in front of them. Thanks for sharing all of the images!

this thing does allot more than the old autocad I used to use. I modeled a car from some outlines today, pretty amazing. Took me a few hours to get it right though but it looks amazing. Followed a tutorial to get familiar with what the program can do. I started out with this and ended up with this after modeling it and everything

the best way to do it is to draw it with illustrator then import it to 3ds max because illustrator is much better for curves .

I wasn't drawing, I was modeling. I used the sketches to model the car. I would use photoshop to draw though. I use my wacom tablet all the time with it when drawing

I wasn't on this site four years ago, so thanks for necro'ing the thread, which contains some very inspiring information for anyone interested in computer generated art. I'm going to have to sacrifice a few coin purchases in order to upgrade my other toys. . .
