Seek and Ye shall find.
You find the most interesting coins in the oddest places when you least expect them. Good luck in your quest, who knows? You may find a major rarity just waiting to be picked up.

Cheers to you my friend I loved going though my pile not knowing........what was there.....many common...and then a few VAMS....if not for looking. Who would know?/And its not about what I have is great vams....most are,,,,as most Morgans have die states that are very common....In our small collection you COULD HAVE something special......and most of us are not looking for the VAM but the coin that winks at us......that what collecting is about...!

1882-CC VAM 2, VAM 2A, VAM 2B, VAM 2C, VAM 2D and 2E is an interesting group to look at. Over twenty iterations of this VAM.

I picked up a 1884S AU with beautiful brown toning and a 1897S AU+....I had other business there also so my VAM research was somewhat set off to the side at this show. But, there is a show this Saturday and I will be going after 78'S and a 02S VAM for personal reasons....Thanks to all!

NOW...I'm a little excited! I purchased 5 MS63's today. 1882, 1882S, 1887, 1888O,and a 1897. Low and behold, I just looked at the first coin under magnification, the 1882, and it turns out to be a beautiful example of a 1B....Kool! Both loops in the 2 have die chips...1 down 4 to go tonight...

I need to ask for help on how to write this on my 2x2 cardboard flip as I always take them out of the container I buy them in and put them in new ones. Just for my records and in case something happens to me. For the correct labeling, do I write on the flip 1882 VAM 1b? Thanks, Erik

that would suffice if those who inherit it know what a VAM is! share some knowledge with those you may leave them with, or they may be just looked at as melt coins, no matter what they are, coin dealers make there living by generalizing what people don't know about....that is a fact..................
