I did try to post a picture. Didn't have much luck, it keep say my type (.jpg) was incorrect and the file size was to big. Then it erased my text twice! biokemist6 your answer is logical. This "T" is not raised its and indent. I will try to get this picture posted but its kind of poor quality. Wish I knew how to get a better picture of this.

Try using a third party photo site such as photobucket to upload the photo, then post a link. It's free and easy.

Probably a dropped letter. Photos are rough. When they polish and grease the die, some metal shavings and grease get in the sunken fields of the die... then drop out after some striking causing dropped letters.

Okay I concur with the die drop explanation, its the logical answer. What is this worth? Should I slab it?

Looks like a dropped letter as stated. the "T" is clear enough to see next to the MM. These are not a common occurrence and could be worth a nice amount. Not sure what the exact figure would be. I'd send it to ANACS for certification. Nice find!

The mark in question is incused, the MM is relief and seems to have a slight doubling.

Thank you Vermontensium, if you don't mind me asking why ANACS?

One of the "big 3" reputable TPG's and the most cost effective. That's the reason I'd send it to ANACS. PCGS and NGC are the other 2 but more to submit and, you can directly submit to ANACS without joining a club or going through a dealer.

Okay I am certainly sending this in with the a good example of the die crack from another bag. But I don't think I send in the grease struck through examples. However, I am still not sure which company to send it to. Surely PCGS will attribute that "T"?

Anyone else want to chime in on this before the post fades away? Whats this worth? Slab it with PCGS or something else?
