Yea SGS has the yellow stickers on their slabs. Everything is MS70. I have also heard of SEGS on ebay.

SEGS slabs can be picked up cheaply on ebay They are no way near as bad as SGS but unfortunatly for them their name is often confused with SGS There are some good deals out there on SEGS slabs for those who collect the coins and not the coffins. Just like the old green PCI slabs that some times come up.

SEGS and SGS are two totally different companies. There are some reputable numismatist at SEGS. SGS is some hillbilly calling everything MS70.
Granted SEGS is not a top TPG, they are way more reputable than SGS. SEGS has rare coin dealer Larry Briggs as the owner, Bill FIvaz (Cherrypicker's Guide) as a grader.
As nohope was saying, sometimes the SEGS coin are good deals, but more often than not they are overgraded.

SEGS has a few accurately graded coins out there, but SGS has none whatsoever. Now if SGS sent you an e-mail, they'd be asking for trouble.

Sorry about that. You are right. SEGS, while often not having very accurate grades, is not the same as SGS which grades everything 70.

I still don't know how I could have ended up on their mailing list, though. I've never used them for anything or even went on their site.

Perhaps someone you know submitted your address? Do you have a birthday or anniversary or other special date coming up? Now mind you, I'm not pointing fingers, but maybe somebody near and dear to your heart had a few idle moments, happened on a SEGS advertisement, and immediately thought of you... which I think is sweet.

And don't look in this direction. I don't do stuff like that. (Unless I thought of it first .)

I got a snail mail survey, I think last year, from Bowers and Merena. If I filled it out I would have been eligible for some contest drawing. I think they got my address from the days when I order books from them. That is, when it was the real Bowers and Merena. So I used their pre-paid envelope to send them back a full page ad from ANR.
Funny, I haven't heard from them since.

Anything's possible, I guess, but no special date that I can think of.

Ah, Halibut Day. Maybe instead of bringing you flowers, Bobby put you on the SEGS mailing list just for the halibut.

Excuse me but I don't understand. Why would you and Bobby be exchanging e-mail? Please explain as I'm as lost on this subject as much as you seem to be.

Even though Bobby and I sit right next to each other all day working, we still send email back and forth. Some things I get need to be forwarded to him and vice versa.

Bobby didn't sign me up for the SEGS email, though. I guess it will always be a mystery how they got my email address. It's not even the one I use on the forum or ebay.

By the way, how many pages have you numbered?
