Well the good thing is alot of the 70'- current are cheap and easy to find. I picked up a 1911 today in AU as much as I like the red BU I figure on the budget I'm working with I can't complain lol.

Okay well got her down to 200 would be 199 but had issues with an online purchase. Well actually 2 problems but the guy sent me 2 other coins that I needed instead of the one I purchased. So it worked out.

I'm not doing this for my Dansco, but for my Whitman I bought a set of Red BU LMC's from ebay for like $40. It may have been a little pricy, but I feel like it saved me a ton of time. I'm doing the 7100, so the proof's weren't included. I guess that doesn't matter since I put them in a Whitman. I'm trying to be a bit more picky about what goes in the Dansco, but not completely. I like you am trying to fill it up :). Best wishes. If you could post how hard the proofs are to come by I'd really appreciate it!.

Well I may cheat for the modern proofs. Just but the mint set for several of the years. As I'm going to go with the Jefferson's next. I bought my local shop out of proofs last time I was collecting.

Does putting proofs in a dansco ruin the value? I know you'd use gloves etc as to not touch them, but does it harm the value?

Quote: Does putting proofs in a dansco ruin the value? I know you'd use gloves etc as to not touch them, but does it harm the value? First, I must disclose that I do not care about resell value. I had no problem cracking my proof sets and putting the coins in the albums. They still look good after all these years. Just be very careful putting them in. Keep your albums in a climate controlled location; put them in resealable bags if you want extra protection.

I wish I could say that I don't care about the resell value of coins, but I do. That's one of the reasons I've decided to get back into coins. Just on the off chance of a horrible chain of events occurs and I need money. Of course I do hope that it never happens, but better safe than sorry I suppose.
