Buying Advise Needed ...

The last few slabbed VG10's at Heritage have hammered between $1400-1500, including a couple last month. Personally, I'd wait for one which could be had at that price.

Sometimes, it's worth paying the little extra for a coin that you can hold in your hand at your local shop or show. This coin will only go higher through the years. There are many VG level coins that have nicer eye appeal than others.
And yes, $1400-1500 sounds about right.

SEGS gets it correct some times, now if you were talking about SGS I would say be sure its authentic and has no problems before bidding and if you can't tell by the photos do not bid. At least with SEGS its a Third Party that does the grading not someone sitting at their kitchen table or in their basement

A VG-10 should be priced closer to the VG price than the F-12 price. The others are correct that the 1400 - 1500 price area is appropriate.

As for SEGS, I do not like them at all, but I do have some of their coins in my inventory. As Bryan1315 said, they do get it right sometimes, and they are pretty good about weeding out fakes. If you like the looks of that SEGS VG-10, and the price is right, don't pass it over just because it is in a SEGS holder.

FWIW, I picked up this strong NGC graded VG-8 off of ebay for $1250 about 5-6 months ago...I think I got a lot of coin for the buck, but that price is certainly doable.

I'm not sure how much the market has changed since then, but I imagine its fairly similar. Be sure to look for strong and full reverse rims in that grade, as that seems to be the weak point for lower grade 16ds.

Nice 16-D Johnny. I agree nice for the grade nice rims and a lot more detail than normally seen on VG08. I think you did really good on that one.
