Any Idea On Why My Stuff Is Doing So Sluggish?

Actually...I look for deals from here until March...that seems to be the best time to buy low...and don't forget that Christmas shopping cuts down on most people's budgets..even the collectors have to buy non coin items for the wife and kiddies.

I haven't seen a *single* encouraging sign for sellers on ebay in months. I'm completely scared away from selling, and frankly it's cramping me severely.

Same with me, I have two non-coin related items on ebay and bidding isn't as high as I thought it would be with less than a day left. I do have a fair amount of watchers (27) on one item so I'm hoping that'll lead to a lot of last minute bidding.

I ended the 1906 VF half dollar early, I didn't realize it looks so corroded and grainy in the picture. It also looks like it has rim damage, but it doesn't (light reflected the wrong way). I'm going to have to get a more accurate picture of that coin.

This is weird. I looked around. It appears that on more popular series', like bust halves (or morgans, to lend credence to your example), there are plenty of bidders. These are probably primarily coin collectors who form a popular following with something like morgans, or a cult following with something like CBH's. But on series like Barber half dollars, the realized prices start to get really random over about $30 in value. I've seen many instances of a $20 and $45 coin going for $28. it's ridiculous.

I was already unsure about keeping the VF 1900-S up because of the pathetic number of watchers and bids, but when I blocked one dubious bidder, the price went down to $2! After SIX DAYS! Only two other people were bidding, on a $100 coin, in increments of $.25 and $.50. Unbelievable! The guy with the top $2 bid had a maximum bid of only $32 I believe, also. After seeing a price of $2 on that I'm going to hold on to any barber coin of substantial value, aside from key dates which seem to be doing okay. I don't want a similar situation to that 1858-O seated half awhile ago. To be fair, I made some mistakes then. I also looked at realized prices primarily on Friday and Saturday which explains part of the bizarreness in realized prices, but those with a day remaining are sitting there much lower than is typical 1-2 days from auction end.

True. That might look nicer and stand out a little better. The mostly bullion stuff seems to be doing pretty well.

I've moved to a buy it now model except for the most common of items. I am surprised that your coins went for what they did recently. Kinda wish I was bidding as you would have got more from me on about everything!
