I believe my oldest U.S. coin is my 1819 Matron head large cent. Here's a picture!

1801 Large Cent in really rough condition. One of my goals for 2014 is to get purchase a coin from the 1790's, most likely a large cent since the other denominations get expensive quickly.

1819 large cent in G that I pulled as payment from a collection I recently appraised.
Prior to that, an 1837 "substitute for shin plasters" hard times token that my grandfather gave me.

1793 Chain Cent S-1. One of the first coins to leave the fledgling U.S. Mint. The design may be relatively crude and she has seen a long life in circulation, but she is one of my favorites.

Oldest US Classic is this 1798 cent though I have several colonials and then some ancients going back to 350 BC.

Love that 1811 dime! Here's mine...it's a 1793 Vine and Bars Wreath Cent. It's a little worn but relatively problem free and more than I could afford at the time.
