Thanks, you probably saved me some money and embarrassment. It appears that the older I get, the easier I find it to be hoodwinked.

Since when do the French care what American's think? I thought they only cared when they needed to be liberated?

To quote Seinfeld: "No soup for you--come back, one year." If it's not obvious already--we don't need spammers; we have plenty of trusted coin sources already--other members.

Do the French really need more corroded metal? Don't they have some large structure corroding in Paris?

Admin. for Forums such as this one can be a thankless behind the scenes task.
If it were NOT for this time consuming task to be carried out, CCF would not exist. You are performing a charitable function to numismatic world, that is much appreciated. Sucria. (Urdu for thanks.)

Quote: the Statute of Liberty was not originally intended for the US? That sounds a bit more controversial than the accepted history. I've heard a rumor the hollow bits are filled with a French garrison...they're still waiting for the opportune moment to invade New York.

And then Americans sometimes wonder why people elsewhere find such attitudes to be quite arrogant or even offensive ... The initial post however is "amusing" in its own way, hehe.

Quote: And then Americans sometimes wonder why people elsewhere find such attitudes to be quite arrogant or even offensive There's always someone without a sense of humor. I can honestly say I've never wondered that. Couldn't care less actually. I do however, get very upset if I think my dog is mad at me for some reason.

Well, humor at other people's expense I have never found to be particularly funny.
