That is interesting.

The doubling of the eye and cheek is what makes me think more than MD.

I'll be watching for the pros, too.

Thanks for you comments.

Does the doubling on both coins appear exactly the same?
It would be cool to see a side-by-side of both coins.

There are different classes of doubled dies.

And with the new hubbing techniques, the majority of "newer" doubled dies seem to be more oriented to the center of the design rather than the outer devices.

How many light sources are involved with this image? Two light sources can make something appear when it is just reflection?

Here's a photo of both I just took. It was taken with one light source close by, but there is another light source in the room but not close. the original or first photo was taken with only the sun light coming in the window.

I must be getting sleepy, I'm seeing doubles.....

In the first picture of both coins they appear to have the same doubling but in the second picture they look different.

The photos are not the best and the two coins are not completely the same. One has the doubling on top of the nose and below the chin and the other has, what appears as a triple strike at the lips and in front of the chin.

That last set of pics looks more like MD.

Now I don't know what to think.

Yeah--on the last 2 the doubling is at different angles, so I wouldn't think that's on the die.
I don't know much about doubled dies on this series, but my bet is on heavy MD.

The more I look at them the more I realize that it's MD.
It was wishful thinking that they could be DD.
Thanks to everyone for the comments and feed back.
