Their is and I will find more. "Strike it rich with pocket change 2nd edition" by Ken Potter does not identify the 88-D but does identify the 88 Philly. WOLF

Quote:
(now 8) Philly and 5 Denver dies

Oops, got that backwards. It's 5 for Philly and 8 for Denver.

So, there about a dozen known from 8 different dies?

Reminds me of the '83 DDR, only a few were known up until about last year, and I've seen at least a few (much higher grades) on ebay lately.

Scooby, in 1983 there were a bunch of them around here...they put it in the paper and they were popping up all over...I found two just in regular pocket change. The bank tellers were loading up too.

I was under the impression that Ziggy discovered it just a couple of years ago.

Thanks joey, you still have your discovery piece? There doesn't seem to be much market for this transitional variety. I don't know which die mine is, found last week.

Here's another related Post I bumped.
