I online chatted with ebay. They say there's nothing I can do until and unless he NEGS me or threatens me with a NEG. They gave me some links where I can appeal if that happens. I'm NOT encouraged...

" try to make [fuw box] for oure selfs" So that's what he's trying to do--change the transaction to his advantage? What a kidder. Anybody can read between the lines and surmise his intent--imo. How are you going to get this guy to focus long enough to drop his ridiculous claim and move on? This got my attention because people like this a constant challenge to conducting even-handed business, something I pride myself with collectors here, as with my clients.

I think he's trying to make me think he's Hispanic and that this is the extent of his grasp on English, even though his last name (am I allowed to type it here?) looks to be GREEK and not Spanish/Latino.

Judging by what he's selling. I suspect he's deliberately lazy with his writing so he'll "not understand" you when you press the issue w/him. Too predictable.

Not only is this guy a conman, he's an absolute idiot too. He's either trying to make it look like he's something he's not, or he just has a 3rd grade education. I think I'll drop him an email and ask a question about his 1922 LWC. Here is how it will read: Helo end thank yu. Is this cown ben cleen? Eye dont now about cowns, so pleeze teech me. David

There's many con man out in the ebay land, and I also met quite a few, not just in coins but also in other collectibles I deal with. One guy wanted to buy a limited edition book for half the price I listed, and my reply was No Thank You, he came back with hope you keep your books for a few more years, in a harsh tone. I haven't met up with non speaking English buyer yet. "I need one of those knock on wood icon. Please!"
