Bonjour -za75-! Votre lien, c'est tout en Francais! (Your link is all in French!) ---You would probably have more responses here if your link was in English! Just a suggestion! I'm 1/2 French from (Ontario) and it's been a long time since I practiced my French, some here not at all. ---I have an observation also, that the French site is so much more polite with greetings, pleasantries... Refreshingly nice, but almost painfully nice.  ---Just to say, it's not always a good day ( bonjour) or a good night ( bonsoir) to say! But nice  Jusqu'à la prochaine fois. (Till next time) .

---No, I cant say that I have seen a hub doubling 1953, 25 cent. Is your curiosity because you have one? Or just curious?

Yes, this link is all in french, like this one is all in english; but the pictures of this coin have no need to be explain : one picture = a thousand words.
I think that it is very important that such coin will be well known by collectors, because it is not listed in the Charlton's catalogue 2011 and no more in the trends of CCN.
For me, this is also a means to estimate the rarity of this coin.
I think that a coin identified, " Double die " ( Hub doubling ), is generally a very interesting exception.

-za75- Yes a very interesting coin certainly rarer at least scarce! ---What's in it for you? you did not answer if you had one? and just to say a picture tells a thousand words isn't enough! ---Those pictures are described in French and all the posts are in French! You have to scroll down 11 posts just to get to the first picture of denticles and a Cud. ---I was able to read them and did several, but I'm also French! ---Not many here are French! ---As the saying goes! "When in Rome do as the Romans do" Try and tell me, It would be viewed in the same manner in the reverse! ---I don't think you understood my point. Nothing personal I was just trying to be helpful. ---Let me put this point out to you and ask, how many answered your post here compared to the your French post that you linked too? ---Besides me and you only (One) here! The results speak for themselves! --- I'm simply trying to help you in your quest for dialogue and only with that comes knowledge! --- Do with thought as you wish!

As I note above, you can also see this coin in " Canadian Coins ", 59th edition2005, page 432.
--- " Pictures ! " You can also see, with my reference, the pictures of mithrandir, Dim Mai 03, 2009, 8:04 pm, and for this, you have no need of translation : these pictures speak by themselves.

--- On this coin, the Double die ( Hub doubling ) is only on the reverse. Nothing on the obverse, except a very small die crack, between EGIN of REGINA.

Yes numicanada.com is a link in french, like coincommunity.com is a link in english, and I think that two link are better than only one !
In my last message, I refer only to some pictures ( page 1, with the date of the message to find pictures ): no need to translate to understand these pictures. All collectors can understand easily !
So you reference to " Rome " is not fair ! As you know, we are all in " Rome " in Canada's provinces ! It seem that this is your problem, not my problem !

In the Charlton, 59th Edition 2005, pages 452-453, we can see photos and prices of the following coins : - 1953 SF 25 cents Hub Doubling, MS-60 = $ 70
- 1955 25 cents Hub Doubling, MS-60 = $ 15.My question : did you believe, like me, that the coins " Hub Doubling " are more interesting for collectors than " Mechanical Doubling  |
