This is for mainly circulated coinage and I haven't included the coins available in mint and proof sets only. I don't know if the different mints use a mintmark (Perth, Sydney, Canberra, etc), but if they do those aren't included either.

Ozzie, no. This is a simple checklist that doesn't include those. This is just for collectors to remember what they have when they see a pile of Australian coins at a shop or flea market, etc. I like to keep one of these lists in the car when I'm on a road trip and see a coin shop, hobby shop, private sale in a different town. It's must easier (and cheaper) than toting a book.

zipper, Greg MacDonald's book may be well worth the money, but at $35 + $20 to ship it to the USA makes it very pricey. A two page checklist is the way to go for me. I'm not big on varieties or errors, just one coin each per date is good enough for me.

I could easily add the special collector's commemoratives and varieties and even mintage numbers to my list but I like it simple, but I'm thinking of making a pre-decimal list too.

Thanks for all your comments!

1972 5c Rare

Love the list. Did you want a list of low mints?

dibby33 , If by low mints you mean coins with low mintages, no thanks.

I also completed a pre decimal coin list. I'm not 100% sure of the accuracy especially with the florins and crowns, but here it is.

And if you're interested in a one page pre decimal checklist, here it is.

Like I mentioned before I don't know how accurate this is, but it's easier to carry around than a book.

Hi, pre decimal coins are a bit different from decimal coins.
Pre decimal coins can have different mint marks.
And the only thing I know for sure is the 1930 penny is very rare.

If you want to include mintmarks, you will have a substantially longer list. I would also delete the 1937 penny, it only exists as a pattern with very, very few examples known. It never entered circulation. So unless you have hundreds of thousands to spend on a single coin....

I have got my 50c list into a suitable state to share here but am having trouble copying it into a reply... when I hit preview it strips out all my spaces making it really hard to read (pasting from Excel). Have tried it as an image but it is too big and when I compress it it cannot be read... any ideas?

Great list.

And exceptional input from other members.

I also have been attempting to generate a similar list for quick reference while shopping. and for keeping track of what coins I still need.

I included 2 extra columns though. 1 column for "Very Good" value, and 1 for "Uncirculated" Value to assist me in determining if a coin on offer is worth further investigation.

Your $1.00 list is missing the Australia Volunteers 2003 coin.
According to macca's there were 4,149,000 minted, Recently out of 200x$1.00 from the bank, I got 1!

Also it appears to be missing the 2000 mob of roos.

And according to macca's, there are no 1996 mob of roos.
