I see what Vermontensium is talking about.
Man that coin is close to MS. I'd like to see
better pics with the true color and luster.
If you want to sell it you'll probably do better
having it graded first.

It's got a really good luster. The only real problem I see is there is a tiny, tiny chip on the rim on the back side. Very small. The strike looks even better in person. I paid $220 for it.

Is the luster more natural in hand? It looks dipped. I think the softness on the eagle's breast is strike, not wear. I've seen it on slabbed uncs. At a minimum its MS-60 details cleaned. The chip is irrelevant IMO. Good deal too, amazing deal if its not that heavily dipped.

How can you tell if it's dipped?

It could just be the pics but I had that on my mind too SC. It does have that "pinkish" look like it's been dipped.

I'd retake the picture and this time put it on a white piece of paper. This way we can tell if the white balance of the picture is correct (that will help show the true color of the coin).

Great details but yes, the color looks off. Here's one of mine that still has a lot of red showing, although the photos don't pick it all up.

BH has it right, if it looks more like his coin its likely problem free or close. If it looks like your pictures with that high reflectivity, then it's probably been overdipped unfortunately...but still would make a great type coin I think.

Great looking coin, but when I first saw it, I though dipped too. There appears to be some different shading below the eagle and it looks almost too clean. It could just be the pics though.
