Wow ... it makes my eyes go wild! That is an amazing coin ... hoping to find one someday roll-searching ... most likely will have to break down and purchase. Lovely Scooby ... David

Hey folks...If you happen to live in PA, your chances of finding one in a roll improves.
Over a few year period, I found 7 of them. They were first reported in around Lancaster PA and I lived in Lebanon for many years. It is just a matter of logic that the closer you are to Lancaster, the better your chances should be:-)
AND.... the coin at the beginning of this thread is a GEM!
Have Fun, Bill

Very Nice!
I'm from Philadelphia and can only hope to run across one. I do have one question though.
How does the MAINEMAN look through rolls and read at night in bed?

I think the "easy to find" comment meant "easy to spot - if you ever find one". I doubt it was implying they are common.
I have been looking through rolls for these since 1983 and to date have never found one.
HOWEVER...
I did a roll-exchange from here in Missouri with a collector in Florida so we could look through some of each others' change, and he found one in the box I sent there. My typical luck.

"remembered I had some change and took a look" lucleus...That was pocket change laying on the nightstand Agree on Pa...Waynesboro to be exact....the tellers were scooping them up because it was front page news in the local paper.

Nice photos... and I believe you are right... I would've spotted this. Never say die. As to the roll exchange "ouch" .... statistical probability is weird and wonderful... you just never know.
