Ill tell you the truth I almost missed this one whatever it is. If this is a DDO I can see why there are none listed yet. Its very hard to see let alone take a picture of it. Its a very easy coin to miss. Heres a better picture of what I see and why I think this. Just look at the where I see the split end in the drawing. Unfortunately I cant capture what I see on the coin. Based on the drawing what would you think? Pretty sad I had to draw it.

That's a first for me. Drawing the coin, that is. Shouldn't the 6 be bigger than the 8? Your hand-drawn picture is clearly MD. Notice the flat, shelf-like look to the drawing. Seriously though, I'm not really seeing anything on the actual coin, except maybe a hit on the 6.

This coin took a whole bunch of hits. Ill probably send this coin to bobby131313 too. He'll be able to capture what I see then we'll take it from there.

It is just not a matter of seeing a line between the devices. On a doubled die the devices are doubled making the devices larger than normal. Here is one example. https://www.coincommunity.com/forum...DDO_Cent.jpgNote how the devices on the 988 are wider than the same devices on the opposite side of the same digit. (The left side of the digit is the normal size, the right side of the digit is wider. See if this helps. On the 86 of the OP. Contact can flatten a devices (Probably a coin wrapper?) and make it wider. I feel this is what happened on your coin from the images provided.

its 3:23 Am on Monday morning and I almost woke up the wife reading this post from laughing out loud. Too darn funny. Never a dull moment on the boards. Thank you for the laughs...I need it. It has been high 30's to low 50's this week. Now...today at around 7PM it started to snow with freeing rain mix. It is now almost 3:30 AM and it is still the same mess. HAPPY First day of spring to me. I can hear the ice hitting my windows. I hoped to be out metal detecting by the end of the month. If this crap keeps up...I wont be out till October. Have a good Monday all.

The SE edge of the mint mark is split plating. Probably one of the easiest things to spot on the 80's zincolns. In 1990 they started putting the mint mark on the die. The problem was that the punch for the mint mark made a fin on the die in that location. Until the fin wore off, it split that area of every cent and with the split, zinc rot started happening.

Anyway...The coin is not a doubled die. I adjusted the image and the 8 and the 6 are just damaged. The D is effected by rot under the plating.
Thanks, Bill
