4 figures? I think that's a bit much although there does only seems to be the Philly mint version for precedent. I guess it's possible, seems very high though. I would hold onto it and research.

Wow, John! The 88-D is a very scarce coin....very scarce. Last month I bought two different BU 88-P RDVs for $60-80 on ebay. I can't recall seeing an 88-D RDV that sold, but I don't have time to see everything. I've got plans to meet Wolf-N-WA at a show this weekend, he's got an 88-D that we're going to do some business together over. SO, I don't can't tell you anything concrete, but his is circulated and I expect to pay just a little south of $100 for it. Your coin appears to be a brown mint state example- I wouldn't be comfortable sticking an exact price range on it, but if a offered it to me, I'd expect to pay $150-175. FYI- Full red specimens of BOTH mints are each proportionately rare. I'd estimate that for the philly, there's probably 1 BU Red for every 100 brown and red brown examples. It seems that the vast majority of the population of this coin went into circulation. Very cool coin, thanks so much for sharing!

Nice score John! Like so many others here, I see the Philly's up for sale, but have yet to see the Denver coin establish a real price. So, I'm going to hold onto mine! I'm fortunate enough to have one each.

Right on yours has the same markers as mine, inside the ear there is 4 die marks, your FG is strong and its a good solid AU-58 with no coin star kisses. I will trade you an 2004D DR 901 for that baby. Ahhh shucks I didn't think you would. As I mentoned in my posting greatcollections has an auction archive menu and you can easily bring up the 1988 and 1988D RDV's. The 88's hammered 150-225 for MS64 RB and the 1988D's in MS 62, 64 RB hammered at low $400ish. With buyers fees about 450 each. The 88D from the Blackbird collection in MS64 sold at $374 in March 2017. An MS64 Red is currently opened at $900 with no bidders as yet. It appears the coins are establishing prices somewhat consistently and that's great news for forum members who have found them. In buying all I can find but their tricky finding. OK I will trade you a 1960 D RPM and a hundred bucks (smile). Good job and lets go for the 92 CAM next.

Very nice find John1! That's definitely it. I found an 88, but not the 88-D. I always look for both. I know the 88-D is rarer, but that's all I know. If you want my guess, I'd say $150 to $200 in your coin's condition.

Late to the party on this one!
CONGRATS,
Excellent Find!
Way harder to find than the 88P-RDV-006.

Congratulation John what a fantastic find for you - and you certainly deserve it. Are you going to send it in for grading?

Nice going. I have found 8 to 10 of the P's but only one lonely D. The D's are definitely harder to locate around here.
