I will be there friday too and will hopefully meet Dave. Anyone who knows me that's going, feel free to shoot me a PM for my phone number so we can meet up! This is only my second coin show, so I'm pretty new at this whole deal.

Anyone going tomorrow? Looks like it's the only day I'll be able to go. First coin show for me.

What's the meet up time? I'll try to be there around noon and probably until closing..... so much to see though. I missed the one in February, which I think PCGS handed out some 25th Anniversary Sample Slab.... don't know if they will do it this time.

Alright! We made it happen! =) So here we've got, from left to right: SA4H, delaner, vermontensium, and johnny54321 NICE! We totally coin geeked out. "Dude, I couldn't believe they wouldn't G4 that 1916 SLQ Johnny 54321. That thing is nice! What were they thinking giving that an AG3? The nerve of some people, you know?" That was an actual conversation overheard at the Long Beach coin show. It seemed completely normal at the time, but in retrospect - guys, we're full blown COIN NERDS. Love it. Glad to meet you all. =) "Oh yeah, the arc of the bottom of the 6 is TOTALLY visible, it's beautiful, dude!"

And for the record that is my PHONE in my pocket, not my reaction to Johnny54321's SLQ.

Hey Ryan, Poor Johnny is probably still on the road. He told me it's a 2.5 hour drive back home. I had a great time! Let's do it again soon. This was one Pof my better "deal" shows. I snagged 10 common Barber dimes for $1.50 each. She said they forgot to change the prices, and let them go for that ;) Colonials, not this time :( Look forward to the next one! There are a couple more CCFers that want to come!

I'm back safe and sound. Though it was a long drive, I have to say, it was worth the whole trip just to meet the 3 of you in person! I made 3 new friends, and you all speak VOLUMES for what a great community we have here! Go us! Geeks-R-US! Hopefully we can get some more CCFers next year, and start some lasting traditions!

Quote:I snagged 10 common Barber dimes for $1.50 each. She said they forgot to change the prices, and let them go for that ;) That was very well played. I had a somewhat similar experience towards the end of the day. A dealer had a decent circulated 1844-O Half eagle out, marked $380. He said he forgot to update to the gold price increase. So I wound up with a better date for my half eagle roll at melt.

Hello guys, I was my great pleasure to meet you all. It was very nice to meet some fellow collectors face to face and knowing who you are trading/buying on the forum. It was my pleasure meeting two new friends. Thank you Dave and Johnny. From my corner, all of this happened, thanks in large part to delaner. I've made 2 more new friends, thanks to Ryan. I've met him in two occasion now and each occasion he always brought his girlfriend along.... very impressive! Btw, we'd talk about establishing some kind of "CCF Southwest Chapter" and may be we can have our quarterly meeting at LB.... we can meet up to talk, discuss about coins, do some trading/selling/buying in person and save some $$ from the shipping cost as well as having more interaction and fun. Sorry for the late update/reply to you guys. I was so busy in the last couple days: HS friends gathering, work - project delivery, staffs meeting, more project to deliver..... It seemed like you guys got some great deals at the show..... I came back the next day with delaner..... we had some fun at the last hour of the show and he helped me got some nice LWC.... all were good until I head to my car and realized that I got a parking ticket (meter's time ran out) for $49... probably the most expensive parking for any coin show. I have trouble w/ parking every time I go to Long Beach. Btw, I got a whole bunch of VIP Pass to the Ontario Convention Coin Show in July (July 14 to July 16). I don't know what good will that be (haven't read the text yet.... I'll do it tonight) but I thought that it may give us a discount or free entry to the show. If we can organize better, we may have a better turn-out of CCF members at the show. Would you guys be interested in having another meet up on Friday July 15 at this show? Thank you guys for the great experience. PS: 2.5hrs drive for Johnny? That's a long drive; I guess you live some where north of Lancaster, may be near Edward Air Force Base? They have great air show up there.....

You bet, I'm all for it! We also missed Cali_Nick and rsxtacee, which was a bummer. And it might be a drive, but SDCoinGuy might be around, and I think Silent, you mentioned going to the SD coin show?
That'd be a heckuva drive for Johnny, but...
Hey Johnny54321, are there ever coin shows up that way? Maybe on up the 14 to the 395 near Bishop, or further on up to Carson City? It'd be fun to get a group together to head up to some of the Gold Mines way up North or at least to Carson City... The drives there are BEAUTIFUL (if you're into beautiful drives through mountains and the like) and the weather during the summer is pretty awesome. =)
