There is a bit of raised edge on the bottom obverse rim. However the edges have nicely formed reeds without any damage. Also it does have a nice cartwheel luster.

The weight is consistent with original mint specifications of 6.25 grams. I'm not seeing anything that leads me to believe this coin is not a genuine Isabella. Like the others .... I question the origin of the unusual color and wonder what is going on at the rims?

As far as grade goes .... the high points for this design ... and the first to show signs of rub ... are the central oval jewel in Isabella crown (obverse) ... and the point where the strand of wool crosses the kneeling spinner's thigh on the reverse.

Take a good look at both of those spots and determine if the mint luster is undisturbed ... if so this is an MS coin and given the clean fields and lack of bag hits I'd say MS64 possibly MS65.

If rub is present then a lovely AU58 slider.

Compare yours to my PCGS MS64 CAC example:

This is a very popular (and valuable) coin. IMHO worthy of submission to a top tier TPG for authentication and grading.

There is plenty of mint luster in those areas. I did notice while checking that the jewel has 3 marks in it. The don't appear in your photo so I guess there is some damage there.

I like the coin, so I will raise the ante to MS62/63
I do have a coin or two that have that color of toning, though it could have been re-toned some time ago....I would expect to see some gold colors and blue as well. let us know what you get...Thanks for showing one of the beautiful commemorative's out there...

Hopefully NGC will judge the coin to be problem-free. My gut call is it has AU-58 detail and artificial toning. Hope I'm wrong!

First photos were seller's listing photos. I took these and think they show the color more accurately.

The new photos are I think more revealing. There is definite rub with hairline scratches in the fields confirming an AU grade IMO. The hairlines especially in the left obverse field are severe enough to probably get a "cleaned" judgment from NGC. The coin does have quite a bit of remaining luster consistent with a high AU grade and the color looks more natural in the new images. It will be very interesting to see how NGC calls it.

There are some patches of hairlines(light wiping, not a harsh cleaning) but the combination of flashy luster and eye appealing toning make this a better-than-average AU IMO. It may not slab problem-free but it sure would look nice in a commemorative album $400 is right at Numismedia EF40 so I would say you did good.

I don't think it will necessarily get a cleaned judgment, as often these 'highlights' are very normal on toned coins.

I would suspect AU-58, mayyybe AU-58 or MS-60 details, but also possible a net grade of MS-61 or 2

I love the new pics! I agree with Brian, looks like a nice potentially slabbable AU-58, or 55 minimum with a boatload of eye appeal.
