Thank you guys for your nice words. bensond: I have many Egyptian, Middle east (Arab) and other world coins for trade. I will be happy to trade with you but I think according to the forum rules you must have at least 250 posts and have been a member for at least 90 days to start a trade. I will be waiting for your email once you are ready.

Very nice collection EgCollector [:) Certainly beats mine which has a grand total of 5 . I dont think your find the older ones too expensive to obtain, apart from the key dates. I'm sure your also be able to find many of those either on the auctions on here or you could try your luck on ebay.

I think that in the civilized (non-US) world, the plural of penny is pence. That may only apply to deonominations: two pence, sixpence, etc.

Hey azda, Looking through your list, there's a 1881 penny listed as 1811. Just a typo!

Quote: plural of penny is pence. Not always, if I'm saying that I have "15 x 1 penny coins", I would say "I have 15 pennies", but if I'm talking about their face value, then I'd say "I have 15 pence" or more correctly "1 Shilling and 3 pence" which would be said as "one and threepence" (1/3d) so 'pennies' as a plural in the first instance is correct.

does anyone have any pennies for trade or sale? both of my moms were English and I lived in England for 8 years--when I see these coins the memories come flooding back!
