I have been selling onesie twosies on ebay but I would rather trade if possible. Trading is more fun.

I don't have a huge number of coins, and haven't bought anything in a couple years. I retired recently, and one of my planned projects is to get everything organised, kinda see just what I've got. Barring some unforeseen financial problem (that can happen to any of us, at any time, as Yokozuna has mentioned), I'll never sell anything. The plan is to pass everything on to my youngest son, who collects a little bit of everything U.S.

I have never sold a coin. I have traded some extra roll-found silver to fill some holes though. For me this is a hobby, one that I am very sentimental about, so I have a difficult time getting rid of anything.

I sell on ecrater, CCF, & ebay; sometimes at shows. Then there are coins in my personal collection I don't plan on selling, I am emotionally attached to them in one way or another.
For me as well, this is mostly a hobby but I really enjoy selling coins, packing them up, getting them in the mail, and seeing someone happy with their purchase (hopefully :)

The only time I have sold my collection was to help raise money for a house purchase. In that case, my entire collection was sold. You can't put a roof over your head with a stack of rare coins!

I've never sold a coin from my collection but I probably will after my wife and I are both retired. I have so many duplicate, triplicate and even quadruples of IHCs that I don't really need them all. I might as well make some money from them. It's just so hard to let them go, lol.

I also have many duplicates. I would like to think that when I pass them down my daughter will be able to keep all my main sets and then still make a lot of money selling the duplicates.

Kind of what we all really do you know. And that is sort of true of everything we think we own.
Never have sold a coin in well over 60 years now.
Maybe tomorrow.

I'll sell extras to fill holes in other collections. It's tough to sell though, they're like my own kids. I said 6 months ago that I was selling some gold and silver...still haven't gotten up the courage to give them up.

Usually if I buy it I am planning on keeping it, but every now and then I will buy with the intent to resale. I have sold a few coins that I have bought for my collection but that is usually because I have upgraded that particular coin or it is a coin that doesn't mean as much to me as another coin does and I will sell it to help fund a new purchase but most of my activity is buying with very little selling

I buy some coins with the specific intent to sell them at a profit, but rarely actually get around to selling them. I find some really outstanding prices every now and then on coins I don't normally collect. They usually find a way to stay in my collection.
