Boa Has....

I dont deal at all with Bank Of America...I always use Wells Fargo and they are always nice to me...in fact I have three different branches that the gals save wheat cents and Kennedy half dollars for me!

Looks like Well's Fargo is the coin collectors bank.

Different regions must have different rules. I have never really had a problem with BofA. Only real problem has been if they bother to ask if I have an account before they sell me some coin. Half the time they won't after I tell them no.

I can't fault them for that...

Well as you can guess I walked into the local BoA. I try to space my dumps but I ended up revisiting one I had dumped at not too long ago. Usually minor just 1 or 2 hundred here and there but probably a few too many times. Even more unluckily when my turn came up it was with the exact same teller as last time. I only realized when I was walking up. So...blah blah blah...5 dollar fee because they don't count them here and have to ship them out you know the drill.

I guess after my last dump she ran and blabbed to her superior who said 'invent some imaginary official 'policy' to get rid of the annoying gnat'. I wasn't able to dump my +300 there so I drove down to another branch which apparently didn't get the memo about the new fee luckily.

For a little while I couldn't help but feel somewhat angry and had fun imagining ridiculous scenarios like coming back and dumping 5000 dollars at once or somehow taking control of BofA and firing the teller or her supervisor. But whatever, I got a good laugh..the annoying thing is its the closest branch but ya gotta do what you can to adapt.

Around where I live Bank of Ameriaca is slowing buying up many smaller and some really larger banks so they are all over the area. It surprized me when a place called LaSalle Bank was bought by them since that bank was really, really large here. Now there are about 10 Bank of America's within seveal miles of me.
They sort of ticked me off when they bought a local bank withing walking distance of me then closed the place. Idiots.
For a while all would take change but did have a charge for over $100. All had coin coin counters but as they took over this area, I was told by one of their officers that as coin counters break down, out they go.
their new policy is you bring in coins, they are put into a plastic bag, shipped out for counting. The results are posted in your next statement if you have an acount there including the charge for that service. NO ACCOUNT? Then your sent a check with an even larger service charge.

BoA wanted to charge me to send $5 in quarters out for counting. Can't they count to 20 themselves? Then and there I decided BoA was not the bank for me.

I am sure you have all seen the bill counters. You give the teller a stack of lets say, 50 ones and she runs it through this counter and it tells her how many are there.

The other day I handed the BofA teller five (5) fifty dollar bills, ($250) and she ran them through. Could she not count to 5 by hand?
