I would not let the coin/medal info upset you Rbethell11, as I disagree with your thoughts on it. There is clearly a diff between coins and medals, and being here in the forum and talking to people that may have done this for decades longer than you should be viewed as a learning opp IMO....

I don't know how long you have been into the coins Rbethell11 but I have been a house league ice hockey goalie since I was 20, and now at 37 and 269 wins 202 losses 27 ties and 10 post season and 13 regular season titles(23 total Jordan's number, lol), if you came up to me and tried to tell me how I should do this or that in net after you had been playing for a year, well it would be like me trying to tell Michael Jordan how to play basketball in his prime, lol....

Just because one appears to be using "raged comments" remember you can't see their face through the keyboards. so I never assume a sentence was stated in anger, happiness, etc., as when you do you get yourself all worked up for nothing....

I run a real simple online rule for myself being....That I will not TYPE anything in reference to anyone, if I would not be willing to say the same thing to the person in questions face if they were sitting across from me at the dinner table in person....

^this

Takes some people many years to learn this.

I Play a lot of online competitive games where "raging" is common. Took me years to just learn to let it go and move on.

And yea, IMO, there is a significant difference between a Coin and a Medal.

Rbethell nailed it. Relax, life is full of different people. Learn to deal with them, relax, don't let it get to you. Life will be more enjoyable then.

I think it was bit harsh, the bullship statement. It's not like the quarter was worth only a quarter. At 28 times face, it goes for....around....$6.80. So the value was exaggerated. So what? The sentiment still stands. It WAS worth more than face value. Much more. Take that one quarter in to the locals around here and walk out with enough money to buy Lunch. Slamming him like that makes it sound like he is moron and totally wrong. When in fact it was an exaggeration. He might in fact have been just miss-informed. Now that I think about it, there is a public perception that a Morgan/Peace dollar is an ounce of silver. And a Quarter IS worth 25 percent of the Morgan...so at $40/ounce Silver..the Pubic might well believe that a quarter was worth around $10. Should not we be educating the public and not castigating them; or holding them up for public ridicule?

Might we not be showing our ignorance of what might really be going on?

Exactly. As a dealer, listening is learning, and learning something like that info (which 99.99% doesn't exist) would be most valuable. I enjoy teaching others, but don't enjoy having my chain yanked by someone who obviously is clewless.

28 times, $7, is possible. Had he mentioned that, conversation would continue. When he tells me he got 44 times, that's a whole different deal.

10% is an exaggeration, his statement sound more like a lie.

I did not slam him in person, I only asked who the buyer was. Suddenly, his memory of what never happened, failed.

There's a big difference between "this quarter is worth around $10" and "I got $11 apiece for quarters when I sold them in Columbus a couple weeks ago".
