I don't want to make another post so maybe a admin can move it for me.

Apparently one could, although I'm not that one.

The pics are a bit blurry, but clear enough in the right places to indicate a nice lustrous Mint State coin. I'll stick my neck out and mention MS63 as a likely number.

A little hard to tell from the pics, but I'd go with MS63 also.

Thanks for your opinions. I know it is not really worth it to get it slabbed, but I might in the future.

Agree with the 63 and need for better photos and more of them. Look at it with a loop and note the mm location and any overdate such as O/O, look for doubling, clashing etc. We may be able to help you VAM it but the photos are necessary. Also look on VW yourself to try to narrow it down.

The air getting to it is not a problem. A gift from Dad is definately a keeper. Good luck!

Here are some better pictures. I hope they are good enough. I can try to get a closer picture of mint mark tomorrow if needed.

Excellent strike for an O. Probably MS64
Don't you dare try to clean that coin now!

Lol, thanks for telling me, but I have no desire to clean it. I know like anything old and collectible the natural patina is a lot of the value and removing it destroys what ever it was on. From coins, to guns, to furniture I know now not to clean.

Wow! That is a very well struck morgan. I'd say MS-64+ because there is'nt as much bag marks as I thought there were.

I'm still at 63 with a +, 64 on a good day. The cheek, jaw and field at 7-8 o'clock are distracting. Still very nice for New Orleans. I'd be proud to have it.

Thanks for the help on grade. I still don't know what VAM it is. I believe it might VAM1 I do not see any doubling anywhere and the date matches up with the denticals like the picture at VAMworld. The mint mark looks centered and upright also like the VAM1 would be.

Another question, should I get it slabbed and if so by PCGS or NGC? Thanks for the help.
