Thanks everyone, I got here due to hearing about the new 25th anniversary set. I feel this will cause the 06 sets to go up. And if it does its going to be out of my reach for a while. But I guess Good things come to those who wait...... I've never sold any of my coins. Except for a few National Park Sets. But never anything from my collection. I admire those who can separate themselves and cash in to buy something else. Or cash in for that matter. I do want to put together a Close & Wide AM set. So It in its self is its own treasure. Cents are pretty safe when it comes to collector interest. I don't think the value of this cent will go down. I'm going to have to think about it some more. Thanks for all the Sell its as well, Its giving me the edge to overcome my normal dillema. Have to see where this poll ends up.

the 99 Close AM proof is relatively unpopular while the reverse proof silver eagle is overpriced, in my opinion. financially, it is probably a better idea to keep the cent. however, either way you go, the gain/loss from making this decision should be minimal, so do what you like :)

No, that was Adam_E, I bought my 70's graded by NGC two years ago, but also kept the original set I got from the mint in the OGP. Wish I had gotten a few sets, by the time I realized how nice they were, all 250K sets had been sold out by then.

Adam E thats who it was thanks. After seeing his, I haven't been able to get it out of my mine. I was hooked before I saw his coin, but now I'm really hooked. I think I'll concentrate on this latest set, coming out in Oct. And just keep saving for the 06, if the price rises a little so be it.

There's a couple of strategies you could employ with the '11 set, if you are willing to wait for the '06 reverse proof. Think about it this way, if the mint is sticking to the 100,000 sets total, then the two unique coins, the S-mint burnished uncirculated and the '11 reverse proof will be tied for the third lowest mintage of 100,000 after the '95W proof and the '08W-rev'07 uncirculated, making them instant keys to the series. If you can afford it, buy the maximum of five sets, and have other relatives not living with you help you buy additional sets for resale later, or you can get them graded all at once, then resell to get your '06 RP. I doubt the set is going to fall below the issue price due to the two keys. The ASE sets are the one thing the mint has consistently done right.

You might want to look into the scarcity of the 1999 CAM, and its prospects for long-term demand vs. the SAE.

I think the reverse proofs are over-priced and easily obtained with $$$, but the 99 CLAM is a true rarity. Even if you have the money, you might not be able to find the CLAM.

I think there is a possibility that the new 25th anniversary st may cause the value of the 06 rev proof to go down. Right now the rev proof is a unique issue. Once the 25th year set comes out it will lose that special status.

Bizy thats good advise! It's going to be tough getting one right now. Seems someone wasn't careful with their wrench and it wound up in my wheel of life. lol But Octobers a little ways away, things can always turn themselves around. I should be finding out soon enough anyway. Doc appointment Fri. So we will see. , I'm going to keep the 99 CAM. I know I'd have sellers remorse the second I sold it. Then spend all sorts of money buying proof sets trying to find another one. Badthad thats what would happen. I'm going to keep it!
Conder good point. Thaks
