Congratulations! That is a beautiful coin. I am a sucker for the oddball denominations, so I really like 2 cent pieces.

When I got this coin I was under the impression it was a proof. The die cracks on the reverse made me wonder, but in this condition it seemed unlikely it could be a business strike. I was extremely surprised to get it back as an MS. This one may be going to Heritage....anyone know what kind of fees they charge?

Most of the load is on the buyer. It's remarkably hard to find information about the seller's load; I found only two quotes anywhere (neither on the Heritage site itself) - one was 7%, the other 10%. Contact them directly. This is most definitely a Heritage coin if you want to maximize your return.

I'm really torn on this one. I got this coin through my antique biz when I purchased most of a collection. If I sell I have to pay taxes. I haven't checked with my accountant, but I think I can move it from inventory into my personal collection as long as I take the cost of the coin off my inventory expense. I'd still have to pay taxes when I sold but I'd get to enjoy it as long as I wanted.

Heritage charged me 10 percent for coins I recently sold through them.

Nice pics. The error is not evident from your pic so it would not be a highly sought one. Typically, I see pricing for any doubled dies at 3 x greysheet bid if they are obvious or desirable and 2X bid if not. They are generally slow movers and dealers will sell them for anything over what bid is. The unknown in this analysis is that the coin is scarce as a date and in the grade. The few people collecting it may not care about the DDO (or they might think it is neat and pay the extra for it). good luck, nice coin
