"ROLL*1909VDB & 1909VDB* ON BOTH ENDS! 50 WHEATS!" Hmm...and what are the odds of that--10 times no less? If only buyers had done the legwork you have!

There is one thing worth noting here, and it's very bizarre to me. None of the buyers of these rolls are leaving negative feedback, and in fact a lot of them are quite happy with what they bought. I can't figure that part out...

"None of the buyers of these rolls are leaving negative feedback" Perhaps, but these two comments struck me as slightly sarcastic: "Great sales pitch"..."thank you for the two 1909 vdb cents that['s] all" Buyer's remorse often gives way to some rationale that they "won"...just like gamblers returning from Vegas, who "won $700" by spending $1000.

It's just amazing what kind of morals some people have, I look at coins on ebay like I did penny stocks in the late 90's, it all about the hype! Another thing I noticed is a lot of people do not check the sellers buy it now items, I have seen many times rolls go for more in a auction listing when the seller has them for buy it now for cheaper.

We don't have this problem in Australia. The only rolls you are likely to find are Reserve bank, mint or security company rolls. Bank rolls are long gone, despite some unscrupulous sellers on ebay doing some pretty lousy jobs of trying to pass self rolled rolls as genuine. http://cgi.ebay.com/Mint-Roll-of-20...ns_W0QQitemZ a href= https://www.coincommunity.com/go/link.asp?target=https://www.ebay.com/itm/-/380032821361 target= _blank rel= nofollow 380032821361 /a QQihZ025QQcategoryZ3376QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Excerpt from that last "unsearched" auction (sorry about the stupid all caps): Quote: "A TRULY UNSEARCHED HEAVY DUTY BANK MACHINE CRIMPED & TAMPER PROOF ROLL ...FLYING EAGLE, BU UNCIRCULATE GEM WHEATS, BU 1943 STEEL CENTS, 1909 P, 1909 S, 1909 S VDB, 1914 D, OR EVEN MORE THAN 2 1909 VDB'S ETC ETC....HUGE LOT OF COINS CAME FROM AN OLDTIME HOARDER THAT ONLY COLLECTED ANY TYPE OF WHEATS, INDIANS, FLYING EAGLES" Classic, deceptive baiting tactics. Give it a minute's thought and this pipe dream doesn't make any sense. What, a hoarder bank rolled coins with an 09-VDB on each end? Too funny! "It's just amazing what kind of morals some people have" Sort of sad isn't it? As if making money and honesty were mutually exclusive concepts. Latman, I busted up over that one!

chrsb, I agree with you on that last one. It is puzzling, in that the winning bid was $00.01. And the winner is a well known "seller with a feminine name". On another note, you recall the "large number of cents, I mentioned. I have gone thru a lot of them, and I can say that there are many RPM's. I have found several, and I haven't made a real serious search. It looks like anyone looking for Varieties, will do okay. No errors found, and only one clip. I have also notified the oqner that he may pick up said coins, at his convenience. Hesaid he would be by late the next day, but has not shown up so far. I have been offered "uncirculated rolls to look thru" Makes for a curious situation.....I'll be in touch. Dick

Dick,
I have always been leary on some uncirculated rolls, I got one a little while back that was as tight as could be, the ends looked perfect. I noticed one end was toned and the other was not, well I flipped the end coin that was not toned and guess what, it was toned. Someone had flipped it to make it a tail tail roll.
