I can't seem to make out the last letter in this mintmark. I'm hoping someone with better eyes can make it out. The coin is a Constantine I:

OBV: CONSTANTI-NVS MAX AVG, rosette-diadem, draped, cuirassed right
REV: GLOR-IA EXERC-ITVS·, two soldiers holding spears and shields with two standards between them. Mintmark: CONS?

These are the sellers images and I can't seem to make them any larger. Sorry.

Thanks for the help.

I'll put £5 on it being CONSH and workshop 8?

What always puzzles me with these (and many) coins is its described as 'rosette-diadem, draped, cuirassed'. Where is the cuirass? I cant see it!

Nice coin jw. I think I have that same exact coin (with that same bust, but mine is way worse, on the verge of looking corroded). And strangely on mine, I can't make out the last letter either, there's like a bit of gunk or something on it. Personally on yours, I'd say also that's an H at the end. Again, nice coin!

I thought it looked like an H, but I wanted confirmation. Thanks to all of you. As for the coin and patina, this is one of a dozen 4th century coins I bought yesterday from a seller in Spain. Everyone of the images of the coins has this nice patina. I can't wait till I get them. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas. I'm going to start another thread in a moment as this seller has offered me a coin I'd like everyone's opinion. Thanks again.

BTW Bobbyhelmet, why would you bet it being CONSH and workshop 8?

Yeah--I noticed that Lucernæ has a surprising number of coins with great patina!

Just a term of phrase - I'm confident but not sure.

No, I understand you only meant it figuratively. I'm just curious about why you are confident. Is this type from this mint and workshop very common? Of all my Constantine I coin, I do not have one of this type from this mint. Anyway, just curious.

Gamma and Theta seem to be the scarce ones with A being the commonest (all recent rarity discusions accepted ). Whatever it is the bust is, I think its best feature, its remarkably 'correct' and lifelike and the drapery is very well done.

I still cant see any cuirass though
