That would be great if the mint has changed the packaging to be PVC free. Perhaps that is part of the reason for the delay in shipping. If that is the case, then I say it is worth the extra wait.

Just found my twoonies in the mailbox and it seems the packaging is not pvc; though I would appreciate if someone can confirm that it's ok to leave the coins in the packaging.

I too have not received the loonies that were ordered long ago. I was hoping to have them as small Christmas gifts but that is looking more and more doubtful now. Oh well.

Just a note on expired credit cards and ordering from the RC mint. I have been in that situation in the past where my card expired between the date of ordering and the date of shipping. The CC company actually authorizes the purchase when you place the order. When it is subsequently shipped, their systems are able to complete the transaction and charge your card based on the inital authorization. Unless you cancel the card or don't renew it, you should be ok. That said, a call to your CC issuer would be prudent just to be safe.

Do you mean the packs or the coins?

The guy from the RCM who is on this forum told us the mint will produce 5.000.000 Forest Toonies and 5.000.000 Parks Loonies.

The number of packs...I'll have to pass on that

Got mine too. I also received an email from the RCM confirming they shipped my loonies packs.

As for the ammount of packs produced, we will be able to know when the RCM annual report will be out later next year.

Also the fact that my card expired in November and I had to get a new one means that when they do charge it it will probably be declined.

I wouldn't worry tevlon, my card just renewed with a new number, the card rep said they keep the old card acct active for 2 or 3 months for just this reason.

Got my toonies today, it took 8 days to get here. I have received coins from RCM before in 3 days. It's only a 10 hour drive from Ottawa.

I got 1 set of twoonies from the mint a couple days ago. I was going to cut them out and save the best one but I just noticed my set has one coin flipped. Error set!

Hmmm...I wonder how much a "flipped" error set is worth on ebay?

Scissel-

Don't get excited about a packaging error, which can be reproduced. Best bet is brag it up on ebay, sell it at a premium, replace it and spend the profits on something else.

biggfredd - I hear what your saying, though I kinda doubt it would be worth the effort for someone to mess with the packaging of a normal set. Who knows eh?

I respect that some collectors like to collect authentic PL set errors. Someone will probably appreciate it more than I do. I'll see if one of my friends will swap me a couple regular sets for my defective one.

ebay hosted a cottage industry when the proof State Quarters came out. "Hey look, I've got two Delawares and no New Jersey. What a kwinkydink, here's one with two New Jerseys and no delaware!"

And people would pay $100 and up for these "errors".
