Hello. I am new here.

My friend tells me that this coin forum is the most professional in Canada, and he says that I can ask questions about coins here.

I got this 2011 boreal forest toonies roll yesterday. My questions are:

1. In the second picture, the sixth coin from the left side looks like a twisted coin. Is this a mule?

2. Should I open the roll to see what happens to the twisted coin? or I just leave it in the whole roll?

Thanks in advance for your kind feed-backs.

``A mule coin is a coin or metal minted with obverse and reverse designs not normally seen on the same piece, they are highly collectible and can be worth a lot of money``

It is not one, this could be post-mint damage, but we won't really know until you open the roll. It won't affect the value or anything as you can stick it in another toonie roll.

My question is this. The coins is obviously damaged. Is the wrapper the coin is in a original mint wrapper? If it is...would the coin be considered to be an mint damaged coin? If they were to remove the coin from the original mint wrapper...there would be no way to prove that the coin was damaged prior to being rolled in to a original mint roll and could be chalked up as PMD.

I have a Canada cent that in a original clear mint roll and I noticed it was damaged. I opened the roll to have a look at the coin. After I was thinking that I now have no way to prove that the coin was in a mint wrapped roll and it was not just PMD.

I would say open it and have a look. Be careful not to touch the surfaces with your fingers. I would have an appropriate holder at the ready to put it in once you have opened it. I would also keep the photos. This could be a very interesting error. I am sure there are people on this site who would love to buy the roll as is at a nice price or once you have had a look.

Thanks and appreciate all your comments. I am thinking to open it so that we can see the obverse and reverse of this interesting coin.
