I've seen Maximinus II coins for around $25 - $50 in that condition.

In the Australian auction market, I would be happy to pay $50. Pleasing coin!

Very good detail for this type of coin, although there are a few problems on the reverse. Has anyone found the RIC reference for this coin?

I think its Rome RIC VI 103b. As a point of reference I picked this similar common rated one up recently for £10.28: Yours has a better obverse mine has a better reverse - mine also has a hole! I dont know of anything that make this coin special or increases its value. I think the consensus of around $35 is correct but at the top end, certainly in the UK. As you can see from sels comments sometimes location can play a big part, I suspect if this coin is in Bulgaria you should be able to get it for a lot less than $35.

Quote: I think its Rome RIC VI 103b Should add I've not done much checking to confirm this but it looks like ' RS' with a star in right field and a reverse legend of ' SACRA MON VRB AVGG ET CAESS NN'
