Yeah, I can see it all right. I suppose it must be from a die crack.

But I'm no expert so I'll check back and see what they have to say.

the pic is not too clear. from what I can see looking in hand it looks just like the other rays on the crown. I have seen a lot of die cracks and this looks too precise to me.....definitely open to all comments and thoughts tho.

I was hoping somebody would come along with more information.

You should keep the coin safe -- you might have an error coin. Try some of the sites that specialize in just error coins. But it is possible that it is just a die crack.

It LOOKS like a die crack, but I'm not sure because it seems straighter than what a die crack would look like.

Die gouge or maybe a die clash?

I'm thinking it's a die gouge, unless it's a pretty worn die crack...

I have a New York just like this and upon further investigation :) I discovered a 5 on the edge around 4 o clock approximately and also the shape of a ribbon of some sort sort of ghosted on the field between the date and Image. I tried to take photos but let me tell you holding a lighted loup and centering my phone through the loup for a peoper photo is something I never want to do again!! This Lady will be investing in an Android compatible USB Microscope any suggestions in that matter will be soaked up like a dehydrated sponge at this point. I am going to start the long process of posting photos now so please bear with me. :)

This is all I have the patience for at the moment. Maybe it was a flip over maybe it's PMD ? I'm leaning towards a die malfunction because the additional designs that show faintly on the open fields and edge are too uniform and I'm no good and recognizing anything backwards upside down or inside out lol
