From an artistic point of view the image of Vikki is not in the median centre of the medal. The area behind her head appears to be bigger than the area in front of her face. The design looks a little unbalanced.

I suspect that the designer of the image was different to the designer of the medal, and the image of Vikki was imported into the design.

The image of Vikki herself attests to quite a high kevel of skill by the designer, and is probably the work of one of the Wyon family.

Yes, there is a loop sunk in the edge.

The reverse is stamped BOIS DURCI and there is circular pattern around the center.

It's a beautiful medal (even though it does look unbalanced). I have a medal with Albert (alone) but not of such quality.
