Bought One Coin And Got A Different One.

I was wondering if anyone has ever purchased a coin and when they got home and could inspect it even closer they found that it was a different coin. It has happened to me two times in the past year. The first time was when I bought an 1838 large cent and after taking it out of the flip I found that it was actually an 1833. I guess the original owner that put it in the flip and marked it didn't examine it closely.
The second time I purchased what I thought was an 1858 flying eagle and the flip was marked LL for what I assumed was large letters. however when I got home and compared the actual coin to my RedBook I found that it was actually a small letter variation. To bad the mistake wasnt that it was a 56 in stead of a 58.
In both instances there didnt seem to be much of a difference in the book values from one to the other so I didnt make a stink about it. Both of these occurances happened with different dealers so I dont suspect any dishonesty on their part. Additionally I bought these coins in person so I had more than enough time to inspect them myself.
Regardless it has taught me to inspect the coin more carefully and not to ever assume that what is written on a flip is correct. You can't judge a book by its cover.
I am just curious if anyone else has had this same experience.
