Here is 3 of three of my early B-Day gifts!  Severus Alexander, Denarius, AD 222-235 O:IMPALEXANDERPINSAVG Laureate and Draped bust Rt. R: SPES PUBLICA (Hope of the Republic), SPEC(Hope) advancing left, holding flower andlifting skirt Mint: Rome AD232 Sear Millenium Ed. #7927 RIC 254...? Fairly sure I got the RIC correct this time:) What do I like about this coin: (1) This ancient has by far the best toning of any other ancient silver coin that I have! The pics are pretty close to in hand viewing!  (2) It is well centered, good legends, attractive details, and did I mention the toning! (3) And its a B-Day present from my mom!   |

What I like is the facial detail on the reverse. Nice coin.

Doug. I like the detail on the reverse also! Hear is a close-up. Hope has a pretty cool hat!   JW you go ahead a get yourself a new old coin for your birthday for me! We deserve it! Right! |

I don't collect ancients, but that is a really attractive coin! That would be the first ancient I would buy! Good idea
