Thats funny. I have a feeling the bidder is somehow related to the seller?

Out of the four photos they posted only one is decent. the fourth one I don't know why they even bothered posting it.
I also can't believe someone actually bidded on that.
Well you know what they say eh? A fool and his(Or her) money are soon parted.

A big tall tree and a short piece of rope, that is a solution for both the bidder and the seller

There's no indication of scale with this piece, and the pics are too fuzzy to tell. Sooo... is it an ordinary 5¢ inserted into a huge fake 1¢ or a tiny fake 5¢ impressed or inserted into an ordinary 1¢? Or are both "parts" fake?

Still, apart from the $7000 ask price and the hype suggesting it's some kind of hyper-rare official coin, I don't see a problem with this auction.

I had a tiny nickel like that as part of a magic trick. I'm kicking myself in the head for not drilling a hole in a penny and plugging the nickel in there!

The reason I ever even looked at ebay was because of an article in Time magazine years ago that reported a lump of coal being sold for $56. Now, I know it was for a gag gift for Christmas ("you'll get a lump of coal in your stocking if you've been bad!") but nothing on the 'bay has surprised me since, this absurdity included.

I have reported it as a fraudulent listing. I suggest that the rest of you do the same. Only with multiple reports are they going to act.
