Poll Question
So I'm curious on how many people are going through Canadian boxes of pennies and pulling the copper ones out hoping that they will be allowed to melt for their metal values? I am finding that, In my boxes that I search for my album, 45% of them are copper. Thats a lot of pennies to stack away in hopes of.

Poll Choices
 Pulling all copper for melt.
Pulling a handful of copper just in case.
 Not pulling any copper.

The only reason I'm not pulling copper cents is because I find 10X the amount scrapping, and I can sell that immediately.

I pull copper from my Lincoln cents, roll it and sell it on ebay between face and spot. Then use that to fund other purchases or more CRH.

I'm keeping aside any copper I find. It wont hurt, and you never know.

I wish I had gotten on the silver train when it was low.

Im the same as you half hunter. I have a big jar that looks like will hold maybe $200 in pennies. I think I will pull all copper until that is full from my box searches then I will just add what I get from change. I figure, if I get to melt them then I could double my $200 and if not, then I only have $200 I need to roll and bring to the bank.

I haven't been pulling copper for the sake of copper. I do see value of doing that though. I personally don't have the funds or the space for that, instead I just hold onto pre 1970's. In Canada it is even more ineteresting as they stopped making the penny so now the question is do we collect all pennies, just copper or what? I haven't decided yet, I think what I can afford to do will ultimately dictate that.lol

started trying to get together all penny dates. Working on the 1920 to date. Probably going to have to buy everything from 1858 to 1919 if I want to have a complete set, which sux, but would be nice to have all years. Anyone know how much the large cent (Canada) set is going for in just g to vg condition?

I've got a gallon bottle nearly full. Problem is, I threw in a few zincs as well and need to eliminate them to have just coppers.

If copper prices start to really take off, or cents stop being minted, I think I'll start hording them. But they take up space and are a pain to move around.

I keep all I find, only up to 1979.1980 to 1996 has less copper content and I found I was hoarding too much (Took all the rolls 1980 and later to the bank)

I just surpassed the $1200 mark in copper cents. They stack nicely rolled and boxed . Makes a nice stack 8 boxes wide by 6 boxes high.
