Die Polish Or Cleaning? - Coin Community Forum

muddler Pillar of the Community United States 7200 Posts	Posted 10/03/2012 9:10 pm This 1937 d Walking Liberty half has me wondering if it is cleaned or showing die polish above E pluribus Unium. There does not seem to be any other signs of cleaning to me but your thoughts? Report this Post to the Staff

SsuperDdave Moderator United States 23522 Posts	Posted 10/03/2012 9:31 pm In addition, if it's actual die polishing you'll likely be able to see it noticeably heavier at the edges of the devices than in the open fields - it's a natural outgrowth of the polishing process at the edge of a "dropoff."
