Is there a way to do photo and video presentations without spending a grand on a video projector? Most of the presentations I've done I have used poster sized blow-ups but they don't look very professional. Has anyone tried any of the pocket projectors I've seen advertised? The presentations I do are generally at the local club level with around 20-25 attendees. Any suggestions at all are welcome.
They were taken on a Vivitar DVR 850W and loaded on to Youtube. This camera allows a video of up to 1 hour.
Borders Family History Society have regular talks during the winter months and one of their members used a professional camcorder to video the talks, however, he then discovered it was beyond his capabilities and his software to convert it for website use.
Youtube say they allow up to 20Gb uploads, but he found that his video (just over 1 Gb for a 40 min talk) couldn't be loaded, because the upload would crash about half-way through.
I suggest you buy or borrow a cheap hand-held and try it out. Feel free to PM me if you need more help.
Oops, I wasn't specific enough about what I was asking. Shooting a video or photo's is easy but how do you show them to a room full of people as a presentation?
We have approx 20 people in our coin club and we show DVD presentations every month using a DVD player & TV. Not sure if you have the capabilities, but...
If something the size of a TV is sufficient, it's a trivial task for pretty much any laptop to output video to one. Otherwise, you're forced into projector territory.
