Arelate mint, 1st Office
Diameter: 26 mm
Weight: 9.2 grams
Obverse: DN FL CL IVLIANVS PF AVG. Pearl diademed, draped and cuirassed bust at right
Reverse: SECVRITAS REIPVB. Bull standing right, 2 stars above, wreath at end of legend. PCON in exergue
Reference: RIC VIII 316
Other: full details in both sides ... precious black patina ... scarce in this condition ... better in hand. VF+

Nice pickup. These are popular coins, I suppose because of the reverse. I own two with this reverse. This is my best:

... your bull looks a bit like it might wanna take a rest and/or lay down and chew some Cud? (your bull looks like it may have been raised as a source of food, rather than for breeding and/or bull-fighting?)

Steve , no Bull awesome coin , one of my favorite coins, which I did pick one up, I think mine might be a range bull, needing some oats...

Yah, the light coloured desert sand against the dark patina really makes the coin "pop" ... and then there are also a few cool red-crusties thrown-in to make it seem even more dramatic and eye appealing (one of the stars is even red) ... yah, this coin is a total winner!!

aweosme, man I love those julian bull reverse coins. I have one, but it is in really rough shape.
