As noted, you have an Eisenhower dollar coin. Dwight David Eisenhower was the 34th President of the United States, serving from January 1953 to January 1961.

The US Eisenhower dollar series ran from 1971 through 1978. The coins issued for circulation were a copper-nickel clad composition with an inner core of 100% copper sandwiched between two layers composed of 75% copper and 25% nickel. There were also silver collector versions of the coin struck from 1971 to 1974 and then again in 1975/76 (all dated ‘1976'); they contain 0.316 ounces of silver.

Your coin is one of the copper-nickel clad issues and was struck at the US Mint in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; circulation coins struck at the Denver, Colorado mint would feature a ‘D' mintmark above the date on the obverse.

Over 12.5 million 1977 Eisenhower dollars were struck â€" it is a common coin in circulated and low to mid uncirculated grades. Your coin appears to be a circulated coin and is essentially worth about face value. If you were in the US, I would suggest spending it if you didn't want to keep it.

Hope that helps!
