I always get 3 of any 'Uncirculated' sets. Just a habit that goes way back to when I started this collecting madness (1963). Also ordered 3 of the 'War of 1812 sets' too.

I'm tempted, but haven't pulled the trigger just yet.

maybe it's because I'm in my early 20s.

but I just really don't care about the war of 1812.

If you think about it, is it really our war? Didn't we just fight under the British banner?

That is just sad that you know so little of our nation's history. It's not like it's a current event for anyone here, but if not for the War of 1812 there would be no Canada.

@lyradnoj

no offense, but every single war defines a nation.

again, 1812, despite its historical values, have been a bust and I have a feeling that most of them are going back to the melting pot

Since we can't post photos I'll give you a brief description of these sets.

1. War of 1812 Commemorative Gift Set - Reminds me of the collector card. Kind of a fold out card with pictures and descriptions of those portrayed on the coins. Includes the Shannon Toonie and each of the four coloured quarters. $19.95 Mintage: None specified

2. Special Uncirculated Set - War of 1812 - This is more like the regular uncirculated sets. Comes in an envelope with two clear sleeves of coins. In one sleeve is the Shannon Toonie and the four coloured quarters. In the other sleeve are the four non-coloured quarters. Looks like a specification card included in the envelope too. $26.95 Mintage: 15,000.

@canuck1us Thanks a lot! Even without the pictures the description paints out the set! I'm very interested in the special uncirculated set now.
