This is a series of 16 large medals (73mm) by Sir Edward Thomason on the sciences/industries of the 1820's (BHM #1336). The subjects include Optics, Electricity, Astronomy, etc. A sign of the times is medal #12 which covers Phrenology! I picked up #13 recently which pictures a steam engine.
