I want to subscribe one coin magazine to broaden my knowledge.
I dropped by BN today, and found out several magazines.
I don't know what's the differences or which one is better.
Based on my first looking, 'coin values' seems to be good.

I want good price guide (good means more realistic market value) and some introductory coin knowledge/facts.

any recommendations for good coin magazine?
Please help me. thanks a lot.

I usually recommend Coin Values & Coin World for new beginners as each issue of Coin Values focuses on grading aspects for a certain coin and Coin World provides current $$ trends for coins. Both aspects (lack of grading knowledge & current market prices) are two of the areas newbies get taken for a ride.

I like to remove the grading pages and save them in a binder as they are useful and are in color and color is something my existing grading guides lack.

I bought the very first edition of Coin World -- Vol. 1, No. 1.

I still like it.

I think the previous advice is good.

You might want to check on Amazon.com, as (about 2 weeks ago) they had a special price on buying Coin World & Numismatic News together... pretty cheap as I recall.

I have been a subscriber of Numismatic News for about 6 years and enjoy it. It has a pullout price guide each month that is good.

I have Numismatic News. I really like it is about have the price of Coin World. I had Coin World last year and switch to N.N this year since funds where tight. Like Madspec said it does have a price guide in as well. I think both N.N and Coin World are great since they are weekly so you are getting new info weekly instead of monthly. also N.N has a section that has Mint Satitics.

I prefer Coin World, but NN is excellent also. I have written fairly extensive reviews on several coin magazines, including CW and NN. Perhaps these may help you.

One way to check the magazines is to go the library. If your library doesn't get them call other libraries and ask if they have a subcription for them.

yup, be sure and check your library. My local subscribes to Coin World so I can manage to catch about all of those for free.

Be sure to look on ebay for cheap subscriptions also. I know COINage can be found for around 10 dollars for a year. I just started a subscription to that and it's interesting. As far as price guides go it doesn't have much but I'd say it's worth the 10 bucks.
