pishpash Pillar of the Community United Kingdom 3626 Posts	Posted 05/12/2013 10:32 pm I don't exactly know what I have here. It is very badly damaged and covered with a gritty sandy substance. No pics yet but it is so bad at the moment you have to look at it at an angle to see anything and under a loupe you can't see anything at all! If I scrape away the "sand" it seems to be coming up silver coloured. I don't think it is solid silver. What is the best way to clean this? I have it in distilled water at the moment. Is this the best place for it (probably for quite a long time)? Report this Post to the Staff

joecoin85 Valued Member United States 325 Posts	Posted 05/13/2013 12:56 pm Yes, leave it in distilled water for 3 days. After that use MS 70 supersonic cleaner and gently clean it. To test for silver, rub the edge on a silver test stone and drop a silver acid on the stone (not coin!). Report this Post to the Staff
